Goals: 2022

A recent cleaning of my office at work made me realize that there was a time when I was writing like crazy -- not just grad work stuff but an actual blog where I detailed what was going on in my life as well as what I was reading and the running I was up to (click on the "Old Blog" link if you are interested in reading any of the old stuff!).

After I was diagnosed with cancer in 2010, my focus was just on trying to finish my dissertation and I feel like that once I met that goal, I was just so darn tired.  I was frustrated with my job and my career and I just sort of stopped writing other than the writing I do with my students.

I need to change that.  I even have a colleague who has pushed me into the 21st century in terms of having a more online presence with both my teaching and how I can communicate/ use technology (thanks, Laura!).  Thus, here are some goals for 2022:

(1)   I will write more regularly (at least twice a week) in this updated blog.

(2)   I will keep reading outside of academia by completing my Goodreads reading goal of 25 books.

(3)   I am going to get back to a little bit of racing and this blog will be a good place to vent about that!

(4)   I would love to be sure that I am writing about teaching (sort of goal #1 with a more specific focus for my writing).
